GPS Notice: GPS was designed for outdoor use. You will find the fastest and most accurate service when there is sky overhead. While you might be able to get GPS signal indoors, it can be slow and unreliable. This is not a function of Travel Genius, but rather the nature of GPS. How does GPS work? It is a system of 24 satellites orbiting the earth, sending satellite data down towards the planet. The GPS receiver in your device scans the sky for these satellite signals, and triangulates your location based upon which satellites it receives its signal from. Signal from four (4) satellites is required to deliver your coordinates.

How To Use Travel Genius
What is Travel Genius? Travel Genius (TG) is a location based search tool that helps you to quickly find and get to the places or services you need when you are out and about. It combines the best features of a GPS tool with powerful Internet search options and tucks them neatly into a simple user interface.
What do I need to use TG? TG works on any BlackBerry smartphone running OS version 4.2 or newer (on your BlackBerry you can go to Options->About to see what OS version you have). TG can utilize built in or external GPS devices, or you can enter an address yourself. Also, check the Requirements list above.
TG is comprised of a few easy screens to get you right to the information you need.
Main Screen

Here you can select your search topic from a list or enter your own custom search.
Location Screen

Here you can capture your location coordinates via GPS, utilize the last GPS fix (if you have one), enter an address or select from a list of Favorites - no favorites are available until you create them using TG.
Search Results Screen

Here you see a list of choices based on their distance from you. Note that from this screen you can either click on a result choice to see more detail or you can open the Menu to see more options like "Show Result Map" - which gives you a bird's eye view of where these locations are in relation to you. If you don't see a Result you like or were hoping for then you can open the Menu and choose "Next" to get the next group of results. Once you have selected Next, you can always go back by opening the Menu and choosing "Previous". Please note that not every Result provided is guaranteed to fit the search request. Some extraneous results may appear from time to time, which is the nature of Internet-based search requests. TG is regularly updated to provide the best possible search results for you.
Result Details Screen

Here you can see all of the related information about that business/location such as address and phone number. Note that from this screen you can open the Menu to see options like "Add To Favorites" - in case you want to mark a location you need to return to, such as your parking spot, "Call" - which triggers a phone call to that number, like if you wanted to book a taxi ride, and "Show Directions" - which only appears if you used GPS for your search. If you used GPS then TG knows your start point and the end point (that business) and can then show you start-to-finish directions in BB Maps.
Favorites Screen

Here you build a list of favorite locations complete with Name, Address, Coordinates and even a customizable photo/image. Note that favorites are not shown until you actually save a location as a favorite (it is a dynamic option). You can create a favorite by opening the Menu when you're on the following screens: Result Details, GPS Details (after you 'Get GPS' and the coordinates appear on your screen) or Address Entry (where you type in an address for a search). To change the default image associated with you favorite, go into "Edit" Favorites and click on the TG image at the top. You will have the option to use the Camera (take a new photo) or an image from either the device memory or memory card (if present). If your favorite does not yet have GPS coordinates filled in, you can add them in the Edit screen by checking the "use coordinates" check box. TG will then attempt to capture your current GPS location and fill in that Favorite.

Navigating Within Travel Genius

TG is setup so that you can, for the most part, simply scroll to what you want (highlight it with the red 'bar') and click (the scroll ball or the enter key). On each screen there are also context sensitive Menu options. Click the Menu button (the BlackBerry button to the left of the scroll ball) to see any available options for that screen. Every screen has these options: "Help", "About", "Minimize" and "Exit". Each screen also has specific options that apply to that screen. Be sure to click Menu on each screen to see the additional options available to you.
